When I Fall (Alabama Summer #3)

When I Fall is my favorite book of the Alabama Summer series to date. Reed Tennyson is the gorgeous sexy hunk that is the King of one night stands. His heart was broken nine years ago and he's lived on hundreds of one night stands since then, never opening his heart up again. Until Beth Davis. Beth is a mixture of tough and gentle having lived a difficult life in her short twenty two years. Daniels weaves the tale of unwrapping the layers of each until we are left with the rawness of Reed and Beth. True to form, Daniels includes an abundance of humor, primarily through the interaction of the key group of friends. Reed and Beth's stories were primarily classic, yet included multiple plots within one central plot for added variety. The unpredictable parts of the storyline were the unclosed loops of two pieces of the saga. They were left open enough to conclude that not everything in life has a firm closure, but sometimes just acknowledging a situation is acceptable and all that is available for a conclusion to move forward. Consistent with the series, the same supporting cast were all present and included further development of their stories. Previous minor characters were introduced in greater detail, setting us up for the story between Riley and CJ. Until then, I look forward to the next book in the series, Where We Belong, a follow up novella focusing on Ben and Mia.
