What I Need (Alabama Summer #4)

What I Need is the fifth book in the Alabama Summer series by J Daniels. I loved this series and was ecstatic to finally get Riley and CJ's story. Riley Tennyson, the beautiful although ditzy sister to Reed (book 2), and CJ Tully, good friend to Reed, were the focus of this book. They've never crossed paths before, yet they were aware of each other's existence. They were paired together as part of Reed's wedding party. Riley was having a bad break up day with her ex and they hooked up at the wedding for an explosive and unforgettable time. I really liked CJ. He's bold, confident, alpha and direct; yet not bossy and aggressive or rude. However, I loved the idea of Riley versus the actual Riley. Riley was whiny and weak. I got that her ex was a douche and she developed a low self esteem as a result of him; however, I kept getting annoyed with her. She questioned everything and flaked out easily not wanting Reed to know about them. Although this wasn't my favorite storyline and was predictable, What I Need was well written and well developed. Riley was annoying; however, she was a realistic example of someone with self esteem challenges - which is a common issue in today's society. Daniels introduced us to Jake, CJ's younger brother, and his story is next in the series. I can't wait to see what Daniels has on the horizon for Jake.
