Crave by Megan O'Brien is the first book of the Talon Security Series and is a spin off from book 4 in O'Brien's Ride Series, Ryker. I enjoy O'Brien's style of writing. The storylines are suspenseful and the characters are alluring with a strong supporting cast of characters that provide entertainment, humor and intrigue. And Crave followed suit successfully! Sid Masters and Samantha "Sam" McCallister have been best friends among a tight group of four friends/roommates since college. They've both crushed on each other for years without the other's knowledge. Until one night that changed everything. Heartbroken, Sam moves out within twenty four hours and sets herself on a new course that excludes Sid. When danger is brought to Sam's doorstep, Talon Security, Sam's brother's firm/Sid's employer, steps in to protect and investigate, throwing Sid and Sam together again. O'Brien takes us through the saga with drama, suspense and intrigue with Sam and Sid's relationship as the backdrop and foundation of the storyline. I liked both Sid and Samantha. They are both gorgeous, sexy and smart. I also liked them together; however, I didn't feel a strong connection between the two. I sensed it was there just below the surface but I desired to feel more. One of my favorite parts of the book were the employees of Talon Security. The characters were big, bold, funny and a great canvas for the rest of the series. O'Brien successfully began developing each character and I hope to see each one further developed throughout the series until their story is revealed. All in all, Crave was a great start to a new series. The sexy, gorgeous, protective and strong Travis, Sam's brother, is next up in Claim. Bring it on!
