Carter Reed 2 was the second book in the series by Tijan. It was well written with well developed characters. It was a continuation of Emma and Carter's life and opened a year after the first book ended. Emma and Carter were already together after book one, so this book focused on the suspenseful storyline surrounding the mafia families, the Bartel's and the Mauricio's, war, as well as new developments from Emma's childhood. Although Carter had left the mafia family; he kept getting pulled back in. He had been known as the Cold Killer and he did his job well. When Emma was threatened, Carter protected by eliminating all threats by whatever means necessary. The storyline was riveting, captivating, suspenseful and entertaining. Tijan continued to provide depth and humor through the supporting cast of characters. They were intriguing enough to merit additional books for a continuation of the series or a suitable spinoff. We were introduced to Cole Mauricio, the heir to the Mauricio throne and the only surviving member of his immediate family. While we wait for Carter Reed 3, his story is next in Cole.
